On Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 p.m.—the first weekend of every month (before the 2020 pandemic)—David Hegarty played Pops Concerts on the sumptuous 63-rank E. M. Skinner symphonic organ.
Repertoire was carefully selected to take full advantage of the ample orchestral resources of the instrument, which includes a full array of percussions normally found only on theatre organs. Each concert generally included specially crafted transcriptions of Hollywood film music, light orchestral pieces by composers like Leroy Anderson, Eric Coates, and Haydn Wood, and medleys of familiar songs from Broadway and Hollywood musicals.
